"Wish there were more audio options"
The shows are good, but the audio language choices are limited. A lot of titles just don’t have the languages I was looking for. Kind of annoying.
"Offline downloads feel weirdly unreliable"
I got Max mainly because I wanted to download shows before trips, but the offline feature has been frustrating. It works just often enough to make me think it should be fine, and then it randomly acts like it forgot what it’s supposed to do.
Sometimes a download just sits there stuck for no obvious reason, and other times it says it finished but won’t actually play once I’m offline. The part that really makes me suspicious is how often the app wants me to reconnect, like it doesn’t fully trust that I already downloaded the episodes.
The shows themselves are good, so I’m not mad about the content. But the download feature feels half broken, and for what Max costs, I don’t think I should be crossing my fingers every time I get on a plane.

I travel often, and once again the shows are blocked in the country I’m in. Totally fine, I guess… just a bit frustrating when I’m paying for something I can’t actually watch.

I do like some of the shows on Max, so it’s not like I’m trying to hate on the whole service, but actually getting into my account is such a chore sometimes.
It keeps randomly making me sign in again, and then it tells me my password is wrong even though I know it isn’t. When I tried resetting it, the email took forever to arrive. Meanwhile, these companies always seem to have some little policy loophole that makes the inconvenience your problem, even though you’re paying for the subscription.
For a paid streaming app, logging in should be quick and painless. I spent more time fighting with the sign-in page than watching anything, which is ridiculous.

Every night it starts buffering like clockwork, which is... great. I'm very calm about it, of course, but it does get annoying when I'm just trying to watch something and it keeps stopping over and over.

"Max won’t work on my devices"
I’ve been trying to watch max on my older smart TV and my tablet, but the app just keeps throwing errors and won’t play anything. It’s really frustrating, especially since I’m paying for a service I can’t even use. At this point, I’d expect some kind of refund or credit because this has been more hassle than it’s worth.

"Search feels messy most nights"
I don’t know why, but most nights when I use the search it just feels kind of all over the place. I’ll type in something simple and still have to scroll around more than I expected to find what I’m actually looking for. It’s not unusable, just a little messy and frustrating sometimes...

"The account sharing crackdown feels unfair"
I’ve been using Max for a while, but these new account sharing rules are really starting to rub me the wrong way. I’m paying for the service, so it feels unfair to be treated like I’m doing something wrong just because my family uses it too. The constant limits and warnings make the whole thing feel annoying and a bit greedy, honestly. At this point, it’s becoming more hassle than it’s worth, especially when other streaming apps don’t make you feel guilty for sharing with people in your own circle.

"Good shows, but the pricing is confusing"
Max definitely has some good shows, but for what it costs every month, I don’t feel like I watch it enough to justify keeping it. I also got a little confused because the website says one thing about the plan and pricing, but then it feels different once you’re actually managing the subscription. I might end up canceling soon.

"Frustrating to use"
Max is kind of annoying to use. Something about it just feels messy. I have a hard time finding stuff I was already watching, the menus feel all over the place, and it keeps recommending things I’m not interested in. Even just browsing around takes more clicks than it should. For a paid app, it’s frustrating

"Subtitles could be a lot better"
The subtitles are kind of frustrating sometimes. Compared to other apps I use, these seem to lag behind more often and occasionally skip entire lines, which makes it harder to follow what’s going on.

Am I the only one who finds the parental controls way more frustrating than they should be? They feel weak overall, and trying to manage or adjust them is confusing. I expected it to be simple, but it ended up being more of a hassle than I wanted.

"Charged Me, Then Acted Like My Subscription Vanished"
I got charged for max, but my account kept insisting I didn’t have a subscription, which felt a little too convenient. I tried contacting support and the chatbot just kept looping me around like it was designed to wear me down. When I finally reached an actual person, they basically copy-pasted the same useless replies and then disappeared. It’s been days with no fix and no refund. At this point it feels like some weird system where they take your money and hope you give up trying to get help.

"I don’t really trust the profile settings anymore"
Managing profiles on Max has gotten so frustrating. I’ll update something, think it’s saved, and then later it’s either gone or didn’t apply right. Switching between the kids and adult profiles feels glitchy too, which is the kind of thing that should just work. After dealing with it a few times, I don’t really trust the settings anymore and it just feels like a waste of time

"Stream limit is still really frustrating"
I’ve had streaming services for years and usually don’t run into this kind of issue, but Max has been annoying. We’re paying for it, yet I still get blocked just because someone else in the house is watching at the same time. We’re not sharing it with friends or anyone outside the family, it’s just normal household use. For the price, the stream limit feels cheap and makes it more of a hassle than it should be.

"Good app, but the ads are too much"
I actually want to like this, and sometimes it works fine, which makes it even more annoying. One minute I’m enjoying it, and the next I’m getting hit with ads that completely break the flow. It’s frustrating because there’s clearly something good here, but the ads kind of ruin the whole experience.

"Save your time, this app is a mess"
The Max app has been awful on both my TV and my phone. It freezes constantly, takes forever to load, and then randomly kicks me back to the home screen. Sometimes the audio keeps playing while the video is completely stuck. I’m paying for this, but I can’t even get through one episode without restarting the app. It’s been going on for weeks now, so save your time and patience until they actually fix it

"Canceled and still got charged"
I canceled my Max subscription and somehow still got billed again. The cancellation page was confusing, and when I reached out to support, they just kept telling me to check my account like I hadn’t already done that. I’m tired of these kinds of service runarounds for something that should take two minutes to fix. Definitely not signing up again.
